We are looking for a highly motivated Scientist to join a group focusing on novel cell-based therapies. The candidate will have a PhD +2 years of academic or industry research experience with extensive hands-on experiences in the design and implementation of isolation, cultivation and characterization of stem cells. This individual should have in-depth knowledge of stem cell biology and is familiar with different cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques. Master’s degrees will be considered with sufficient and relevant experience. Research experience with exosome is a plus. The candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory-based studies to identify and generate stem cells from human placenta aiming to support product development for regeneration and anti-aging therapeutics. The candidate is expected to support multiple internal projects, provide experimental design expertise, conduct data analysis, and provide regular research progress reports, both in written and oral form.

  The Clinical Research Scientist oversees the medical and clinical side of the study.  He/she will provide scientific/clinical support for cell-based immune oncology therapies at various stages of clinical development.  This individual will support the design and implementation of clinical protocols and development plans, in collaboration with the Project Lead Physician and cross-functional team members.  The individual will take responsibility as the Clinical Research Scientist of a study in compliance with ICH/GCP, Regulatory Authorities’ regulations/guidelines, and applicable SOPs/WPs.  Responsibilities may include taking a clinical study from conception to protocol writing, site selection, clinical oversight of the study, study data monitoring, subject participation, study close out, data analysis, publication and clinical study report writing.  Oversight of Contract Research Organization (CRO) and other third party’s performance in clinical related activities would also be expected.  The Clinical Research Scientist may also be tasked with presenting information at advisory boards, investigator meetings and/or other public venues.   The Clinical Research Scientist will also act in the capacity of the study manager, providing strategic and operational leadership of clinical research studies to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and of high quality in compliance with ICH/GCP, Regulatory Authorities’ regulations/guidelines, and applicable SOPs/WPs. They are the primary operational contact for the study and lead the cross-functional teams for execution of the study. Responsibilities may include operational direction of one or more cross-functional team(s) and/or performance and quality oversight of one or more Contract Research Organization (CRO) teams. The Clinical Research Scientist should have the command of the projects, the ability to zoom in and out as the situation demands and deliver high quality presentations to senior and executive leadership within and outside of Celularity (as appropriate). The Clinical Research Scientist should have critical thinking skills for problem solving and have the lateral and strategic thinking capacity to drive the study(ies) and understanding the upstream, downstream and lateral implications of decisions that affect study outcomes and timelines.

Summary:      The Scientist position is responsible for providing scientific and technical leadership to enable the development of innovative and life-changing cellular immunotherapies within the R&D group. As a member of the Preclinical team, this scientist will design and manage in vivo studies to support the discovery and development of Immune-Oncology therapeutics and to meet regulatory requirements for pre-IND and IND submissions. In addition, this scientist will be responsible to evaluate in vivo biodistribution of cellular products. The successful individual will demonstrate subject matter expertise in non-clinical toxicology, pharmacology, deep scientific knowledge in immune cell biology and hands-on experience in qPCR, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and flow cytometry (FACS). The position will require an individual with strong analytical, leadership and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to work with a variety of individual styles.
