Overview

Celularity is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician, at our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant located in Florham Park, NJ. The Senior Maintenance Technician’s  responsibilities include operations, maintenance, repair and modification of the Siemens Building Management System/Building Environmental Management System (BMS/BEMS).   This position will also include conducting Preventive Maintenance (PMs) and repair of various facilities systems and equipment.   The Senior Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment including hardware and software.   The position provides first response technical support for maximizing equipment uptime, troubleshooting equipment failures while analyzing performance and suggesting design improvements to improve the reliability of our assets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, repair, and install new components on Siemens BMS/BEMS.
  • Conduct routine diagnostic analysis toward optimization of BMS/BEMS and related facilities systems.
  • Conduct calibration of existing equipment/sensors and validation/commissioning for new equipment and systems.  
  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve mechanical equipment and components.
  • Maintain boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, HVAC systems, humidifiers, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance.
  • Operate and improve maintenance work management process, which includes utilizing our asset management software to document proper maintenance of equipment, identify equipment problems, obtain parts, document findings, track personal labor hours and material on jobs, capture repair history, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Support after-hours responds to all emergencies and takes appropriate action to identify problems and take corrective actions. Calls on vendors for assistance and or utilizes emergency call list when necessary.
  • Will maintain all engineering/electrical spaces in a clean and neat manner at all times.
  • Review and execute work orders, logs, forms and related documentation on a daily basis to ensure they are complete, current, and reflect the tasks as performed, and are appropriated filed in.
  • Provides input to the planning of equipment system maintenance to minimize service interruptions and equipment downtime through reliability centered maintenance practices.
  • Executing a wide variety of maintenance and repair work in relation to the installation, maintenance, and repairs of lab system gas tubing/piping, pumps, HVAC equipment, and building equipment and infrastructure in general.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment adhering to all relevant safety and environmental compliance requirements as well as participating as a member of the facility emergency response team (ERT).

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years overall technical experience with minimum of two (2) years experience in Systems Technology or Maintenance Mechanicals in a manufacturing, preferable in a pharmaceutical cGMP environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or High School Graduate with a skilled trade diploma/degree in HVAC/Electrical/etc.
  • Extensive experience with BMS/BEMS systems including installations. Experience should be in in Desigo with associated certifications in frontend and backend programming.  
  • Certifications in HVAC control concepts, systems startups and applications, systems diagnostics, and Desigo graphics.
  • Experience with reliability analysis, predictive and preventative maintenance (PM)
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Black Seal Boiler License or ability to attain license within 6 months
  • Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience
  • Possess good documentation skills

This position will require:

  • Weekend work
  • Working overtime
  • Working on holidays as needed

PHYSICAL WORK ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

 

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:

  • Frequent physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Using ladders up to 20 ft and working from heights.
  • Climbing a ladder and work from lift
